Man wanted for abducting woman in Newport News

Newport News, Va. - Police need your help to locate a man who they say abducted a woman in Newport News last week.

They say this happened on Thursday, September 4th at 1:30 a.m.

A 21-year-old woman was leaving a neighbor's apartment and was going back to her home in the 100 block of New Haven Court when a man grabbed her and covered her mouth.

She says the man asked her where she lived and he then forced her to her front door. The man then forced her inside and asked if anyone was at home. She told him her husband was home but he continued to push her inside of the apartment. She was able to hit the man with a make-up bag and she screamed for help.

He ran away from the apartment.

Police say the man had a short buzz haircut, he was in his mid-twenties, stood about 5'6 and was wearing a red shirt with yellow design and black pants.
