Tropical Depression Six formed this morning over the eastern Atlantic Ocean, just west of the Cape Verde Islands. The storm poses no threat to land at this time.
The storm has maximum sustained winds at 35 mph. It is moving Northwest at 13 mph, located about 870 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands.
Slow strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours. In fact, the depression could become a tropical storm later today or tonight.
