Newport News, Va. – Today while cleaning out a storage shed, a contractor discovered an old ordnance inside. Officials believe the ordnance dates back to the Korean War era.
This was found in the Deep Creek section of Newport News at around 1:30 p.m.
The Newport News Fire Department Bomb Squad secured the scene and the Military Explosive Ordnance team also responded to secure it.
The scene was cleared at 4 p.m.
