Chesapeake man arrested in Norfolk shooting

Norfolk, Va. – Police have arrested a man in connection with a Norfolk shooting.

On September 14, 2014 shortly before 1:40 a.m., Norfolk Police and Fire Rescue crews responded to the 3300 block of E. Princess Anne Road for a possible gunshot victim.

Officers found a man suffering from a confirmed gunshot wound. The victim was transported by Norfolk Fire Rescue to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An off-duty officer witnessed the incident and immediately took the shooter into custody at the scene. The shooter has been positively identified as 30-year-old Dominque Alston of the 800 block of Creekside Crescent in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Alston has been charged with one count of Aggravated Malicious Wounding and one count Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. Alston is being held at the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
