Manteo-- A man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend on the Outer Banks in July 2012 will face trial on Feb. 2, 2015.
Investigators said Nate Summerfield murdered Lynn Jackenheimer while on vacation on the Outer Banks. They say he stabbed and strangled her. She was later found dead in a ditch in Frisco.
Today, attorneys decided future court dates. There will be another motions hearing on Dec. 8. More than two dozen motions have been filed. Summerfield's attorney said they want to protect Nate's constitutional rights, but didn't specify which ones they meant.
