UPDATE: Pedestrian charged after being hit by motorcycle in Norfolk

Norfolk, Va. – A pedestrian has been charged after he was hit by a motorcycle on Tuesday afternoon.

Police received calls about the incident at 12:30 p.m. on September 16th.

This happened in the 1100 block of E. Ocean View Avenue. When police arrived, they found a man lying in the road.

They say a pedestrian tried to walk across the street and was hit by the motorcycle which was going in the westbound direction.

Both individuals were taken to Sentara Norfolk General for non-life threatening injuries. Crews had to close the westbound lanes of E. Ocean View Avenue while they investigated this case. They are now open.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, has been charged with drunk in public and pedestrian in the roadway. The motorcyclist was not charged at all.
