Eric CummingsHampton, Va. – Have you seen Eric Paul Cummings, Jr.?

If so, police want to hear from you.

They say Cummings stole shoes from a 14-year-old in the area of West Queen Street and LaSalle Avenue. They say he implied that he had a weapon and demanded the teen’s shoes. The teen gave him the shoes and ran back home and told his father about the incident.

The father went back to the area and allegedly spotted Cummings with the shoes. An argument started between the two of them and the father proceeded to take the shoes back.

As he tried to leave, another man who was with Cummings took out a gun and started firing. The victim’s vehicle was hit as they tried to leave the area. No one was hit.

Police have not identified the person who fired the rounds at the vehicle.

Police say Cummings is wanted in connection  with the initial robbery. He has an active warrant on file for robbery and was last known to  live in the 100 block of Wilderness Road.
