Chesapeake, Va. – A Chesapeake shopping center was damaged after a fire on Wednesday.
This happened in the Great Bridge section of the city. Crews were called to the fire at 701 Battlefield Blvd. North at 7:25 p.m.
They arrived just minutes later and saw heavy smoke coming from a storage room in the back of the shopping center.
They had the fire under control at 7:40 p.m.
The sprinkler system came on and crews were able to contain the fire to the storage room. Two stores also sustained minor smoke damage but they will be able to reopen.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
