UPDATE: Person without a home after Norfolk house fire

Norfolk, Va. – Crews have responded to a house fire in the 200 block of W. 28th Street in Norfolk.

The call came in at around 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014.

The fire started in the kitchen, and is now under control, however, the home has been deemed uninhabitable.

The home did have a working smoke alarm, officials say.

No injuries have been reported.

The Red Cross will be assisting the resident of the home.
