Virginia Beach, Va. - A Virginia Beach teenager has died after he was hit while trying to walk across I-264 at Witchduck Road.
Johnathan Victor Kinlaw, 17, was hit around 10:05pm Friday night by a 2014 Toyota Tundra pickup truck traveling in the left lane of the interstate, according to State Police.
Kinlaw was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver who hit him will not face charges, according to State Police.
His family is still trying to make sense of it all. "It's hard to believe. It doesn't seem real right now," said Jason Kinlaw, his father.
His brother and friends say they are getting tattoos in his honor.
Johnathan was a recent graduate of Kempsville High School. His friends are holding a gathering for him on Sunday night at 8:30pm at the school.
