Suspect wanted for trying to pass counterfeit bills at grocery store in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va.- Suffolk police are searching for a person who they say tried to use a counterfeit bill at a grocery store in the city.

This happened on August 10th at around 6:05 p.m. when the person tried to buy a gift card at the Farm Fresh on North Main Street in Downtown Suffolk. They say the person tried to pass $100 bills.

Thankfully, the cashier recognized that the bills were fake and notified management. The suspect was wearing a black and yellow ball cap at the time police say, and left the store after the cashier went to management.
