ELKMONT, Tenn. — People once lived in this little town at the end of a long, unnamed gravel road in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Some of the houses are more than 100 years old. There’s also a fountain and a hotel in what was called the “Wonderland Club.”
The hotel was built to house visitors traveling up the mountains and became a private club. Members of club eventually also built summer homes there, according to WJW.
The entire town is abandoned today, and the structures are eerily empty and dark.
Photographer Jordan Liles explored the village and shot video and photos documenting the once-bustling area and all its hidden treasures.
