UPDATE: Owner charged after dog attacks, kills another dog in Virginia Beach

UPDATE: Virginia Beach Police say they were able to identify an owner of the dog due to previous contact.

James Obrian Inman, 19, was charged with two counts of Misdemeanor Failure to Control a Dangerous Dog.

The dog will remain in the care of Animal Control until a hearing is held to determine whether the dog is considered vicious.

Inman was released on bond.


Virginia Beach, Va. – A citizen’s dog has died after police say it was attacked by a stray dog in Virginia Beach on Monday.

Emergency communications received a call about the incident at 10:45 p.m. The stray dog was found in the 700 block of Prince Arthur Court.

The injured dog was taken to an emergency veterinarian where it later died.

The stray dog is now being held at Animal Control.

This case is now under investigation.
