Norfolk, Va. – Police responded to Granby Street and E. 21st Street Wednesday morning around 7:45 a.m. for a crash with injuries
involving a bicyclist.
Investigators say the bicyclist was traveling westbound on E. 21st Street, trying to make a left turn to go southbound on Granby Street, when an SUV traveling eastbound on E. 21st Street ran a red light and struck the bicyclist in the intersection.
The woman riding the bike was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what appears to be, at this time, non-life threatening injuries, police say.
The woman driving the SUV was charged with Disregarding a Red Light.
No other injuries were reported.
