Arrest made in parking lot stabbing at Sentara CarePlex in Hampton

Hampton, Virginia – A 24-year-old man has been arrested after an assault and stabbing in the parking lot of Sentara CarePlex in Hampton.

Hampton Police say they were called to the parking lot at 9:35 p.m. on Monday, October 13th.

When they arrived, they located a 23-year-old male victim being treated inside the Careplex for non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed twice.

The investigation revealed that a verbal argument took place in the parking lot between the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Deonte Piper, and two victims known to him.

During the argument, Piper assaulted the 24-year-old female victim and then displayed a knife and stabbed the 23-year-old male victim.

Piper then fled from the scene. He was located in the area shortly afterwards and taken into custody. He has been charged with one count of Aggravated Malicious Wounding and one count of Domestic Assault and Battery. He remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail.
