UPDATE: Teen wanted in connection with Hampton robbery

Hampton, Va. – Police in Hampton have identified two people wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred on October 7, 2014. A 17-year-old has been arrested, and a 19-year-old is wanted by police.

At 3:02 a.m., Hampton Police officers responded to the 7-Eleven store in the first block of Beach Road for a robbery.

The suspect entered the business, displayed a firearm, and demanded money, police say. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the business in a vehicle, which was driven by a second suspect.

There were no patrons inside of the business at the time of the incident, and no employees were injured.

Hampton Police have arrested a 17-year-old Hampton male juvenile and charged him with one count of robbery and one count of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. He remains in custody.

The second person identified in connection with this incident has been identified as Cole Alexander Martin, a 19-year-old Newport News man who resides in the 700 block of Kensington Drive.

Martin has warrants on file for one count of Robbery, one count of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, one count of Burglary while Armed and one count of Wearing a Mask in Public. He should be considered Armed and Dangerous, police say.

Tipsters can also send an anonymous tip via text message to the Hampton Police Crime Line by texting “HAMPTONPDTIPS plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES). Crime Line callers remain anonymous and never appear in court.

If a Crime Line call results in an arrest, the caller is eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
