Elizabeth City, NC – Police in Elizabeth City are now investigating after they say a man was shot and killed over the weekend. They say this happened at around 5:45 a.m. at 311 Harney Street.
They’ve identified the victim as 38-year-old Willie James, Jr. After he was shot in the upper torso, he ran from Harney Street to a home on Maple Street.
James was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk where he later died.
Police have investigated and they say it appears to have been a home invasion. They are talking to persons of interest right now but they’re not revealing the names of those individuals.
