Norfolk, Va. – A woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Friday morning in the 1200 block of Hampton Boulevard in Norfolk.
Police responding to a report of a truck accident just after midnight found a truck that had gone off the road and hit a tree.
The woman was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
She has been identified as 45-year-old Amy M. Zakowski of Portsmouth.
The Norfolk Police Traffic Fatality Team is handling the investigation, which is still ongoing. Preliminary investigation revealed that speed was a factor in the accident.
