Funeral held in Suffolk to honor retired Philadelphia police detective

Suffolk, Va. –Friends and family traveled from across the nation to honor the life of a retired Philadelphia Police Detective. A woman who spent nearly half of her lifetime solving missing children’s cases.

Virginia Hill’s funeral service took place at 1:00pm at New Mount Joy Food for Living Ministries Church in Suffolk. The 69 year old grandmother of 15 was celebrated for not only her time in service but as a dear friend and loved one that touched the lives of many.

Hill was shot early morning in her Suffolk home on October 18, 2014. She was later rushed by EMS to Sentara Obici Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Court documents revealed that robbery may have been the motive in her death. Suffolk Police are working diligently to find the person who killed her.
