Two adults and a dog were displaced by a fire in Suffolk early Monday morning.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the home in the 1300 block of Babbtown Road in rural Suffolk around 4:30 a.m.
Units arrived and found the single-story brick ranch home with smoke showing from the front door.
There was an active fire in the kitchen that caused smoke damage throughout the house.
The fire was quickly contained by crews and was under control at 4:50 a.m.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary lodging.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
