One arrested for involvement in Halloween night robbery in Newport News

A 20-year-old Newport News man was arrested Thursday for his alleged involvement in the robbery of several teens that occurred on Friday, October 31st.

Newport News Police say two teenage males and two teenage females were in the 200 block of Crane Circle just after 11:00 p.m. when they were approached by 4-6 young black males.

The two teenage males were robbed of property while the females were able to flee. During the robbery, one of the suspects brandished a handgun.

Davon Shaei Washington was arrested Thursday for his involvement in the robbery. He was arrested around 7:50 p.m. in the 400 block of King Arthur Court.

He has been charged with two counts each of robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Washington was known to the victims but investigators are still asking for assistance identifying the other suspects involved.
