Portsmouth Police looking for suspects in early Sunday shooting

Portsmouth, Va. - Portsmouth Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man injured. The call came in at 2:13 a.m. Sunday morning for a man needing medical assistance for a gunshot wound. The incident occurred on the 1500 block of Portsmouth Blvd.

Once they arrived on the scene, officers ascertained that the man was shot in the wrist. The man was transported by medic to Sentara Norfolk General with injuries that appeared to be non-life threatening.

The suspect is unknown at this time. Portsmouth Police are asking anyone with information to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers are never asked to give their name or required to testify in court. If a caller's tip leads to an arrest, they could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
