Update: Court documents say Voliva is already on probation for the same charge in Prince William County.
Virginia Beach, Va. - A 22-year-old man is behind bars after police say he pretended to be one of them.
Anthony Bell Voliva allegedly tried to pass himself off as an off duty State Trooper. Police were called about an assist rescue at the Strawbridge Marketplace on Sunday at 1:14 a.m.
The caller told them that an intoxicated woman had passed out in the bathroom. An officer arrived on the scene and saw that Voliva had handcuffed the woman and walked her to the front of the business, police say.
Police also say Voliva had a Black Hawk duty holster with a black BB gun made to look like a Glock handgun inside. They say he also had a Virginia Beach style badge next to the pistol and the logo had an EMS center logo but it was draped.
He also had a Virginia Beach Police Department black duty bag with badge with the department's name in gold lettering. Officials say he was carrying a police style radio with a shoulder mic.
Voliva has been charged with impersonating an officer and is currently being held in the Virginia Beach City Jail on no bond.
