Norfolk, Va. - A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital after a double shooting in a Norfolk apartment complex.
Police say the initial call about a shooting at The Pointe at Pickett Farm complex on Greenplain Road came in shortly before 5:30am Wednesday morning.
When police arrived they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
The man, identified as 37-year-old Timothy D. Vines, was pronounced dead at the scene by Norfolk Fire Rescue.
An investigation has revealed that Vines shot his 31-year-old wife before he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The woman was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
During the incident there were 3 children in the home, ages 12, 9, and 6, who were not injured.
