Sussex Co., Va. – All lanes of U.S. 460 were temporarily shut down in Sussex County near the Prince George County line for the investigation of a crash, VDOT tells NewsChannel 3.

It happened this morning, November 21, 2014. At approximately 9:19 a.m., a Virginia State Trooper was attempting to make a traffic stop when he was struck from behind.

The trooper was traveling eastbound on Route 460 at the Sussex/Prince George County line, when he activated his emergency equipment and attempted to stop a traffic violator in the westbound lanes of Route 460, according to Sergeant Anaya of Virginia State Police.

The trooper suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Southside Regional Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was treated at the scene.
