Indianapolis, In. – A truck hauling piglets from North Carolina to Indiana overturned on the west side of Indianapolis on Thursday night.
The truck was hauling 2,058 pigs when Wayne Township Fire Department firefighters arrived on the scene.
About 700 of the pigs did not survive after some were crushed under the truck and others fell on top of them.
The pigs that did survive were transported to the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
It is unknown what caused the crash.
