UPDATE: All lanes have now re-opened. there is now a two-mile backup.
Newport News, Va. – Right now, roads are a mess on I-64 Westbound near Jefferson Avenue.
Crews have closed four main lanes due to multiple crashes. The Jefferson Avenue exit lanes are still open.
Traffic is now being diverted off the mainline interstate into the exit/entrance collector lanes to allow traffic to move around the scene.
There is also an overturned vehicle near the Hampton Roads Center Parkway. Right now three lanes are closed in this area. The back-up is now two miles.
