Elizabeth City – Pasquotank Public Schools Superintendent Linwood Williams will be retiring effective June 30, 2015.
His letter of retirement was accepted by the Board of Education at their November 24th meeting.
Mr. Williams began his career teaching Industrial Arts in 1969. He has been employed by Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Schools since 1982. Williams began his administrative career as assistant principal at Northeastern High School from 1987-1990. He went on to serve as principal at P.W. Moore Elementary School from 1990-1996 before designing and establishing the alternative program at H.L. Trigg Community School, where he was principal from 1996-2002. He served the district as assistant superintendent from February 2002 until January 2009, when the Board appointed him to serve as acting superintendent. The Board of Education named Williams superintendent for ECPPS in July 2009.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Elizabeth City State University as well as Master of Arts and Master of Education degrees from East Carolina University.
