Norfolk, Va. – The underpass on Tidewater Drive at E. Little Creek Road and all lanes on E. Little Creek Road have re-opened to traffic.
This re-opening marks substantial completion of the Tidewater Drive/Little Creek underpass reconstruction project, officials tell NewsChannel 3.
This $6 million, multi-phased capital improvement/Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) revenue sharing project began in early February and reached this milestone in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday as communicated to residents, motorists, and businesses.
The project includes a new four lane underpass, traffic signals, pedestrian walkways, streetlights, and pavement markings.
Beginning Monday, December 1, motorists should expect intermittent single lane closures along Tidewater Drive feeder roads and on E. Little Creek Road between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for guardrail installation and minor project details.
