Two Virginia State Police troopers were sent to the hospital after a crash on I-64 in Newport News on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:19 am, according to VSP.
Preliminary investigation reveals that a VSP vehicle with two troopers was responding to a traffic incident on the left shoulder of I-64 westbound when a pickup truck hit the police vehicle, pushing it into a jersey wall.
A third vehicle then hit the front passenger side of the police vehicle.
The two troopers were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
