Newport News, Va.- Around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Newport News Police officers were called to the Citgo at 780 J Clyde Morris Blvd for a robbery in progress.
Once on scene the store clerk said an unknown masked black male armed with a handgun, entered the store and demanded money.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money, left the building through the front door and ran behind the store.
He is being described as a black male, between 25-26 years old, wearing all black clothes with a white mask covering his face. Police are asking anyone with information please call the CrimeLine at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
