UPDATE: Police identify man who robbed CNU student at campus ATM machine

UPDATE: Police have identified the man wanted in the ATM robbery as Jerry Lewis Crafton from Newport News.

A warrant has been obtained for Mr. Crafton for robbery. If you observe Mr. Crafton or know his whereabouts, please contact the University Police at (757) 594-7777 or utilize the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

Newport News, Va. – A CNU student was reportedly robbed as he withdrew money from the ATM machine at the David Student Union Wednesday morning around 10:23 am.

The student reported that a man  approached him and demanded the money from him. No weapon was displayed and no threats were made.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’0” tall, wearing a tan jacket and blue jeans. Newport News Police was also made aware of the incident and both departments are continuing to search for the suspect.

The CNU community is reminded to be aware of your surroundings, don’t visibly show amounts of money or property and report any suspicious activity to the University Police, officials say.
