Police identify suspect in Suffolk shooting

Suffolk, Va. – Police have identified a suspect in Tuesday night’s shooting in Suffolk that left one man wounded.

31-year-old Charles Lamar Beamon of Sunbury, North Carolina is wanted for Armed Robbery, Malicious Wounding, Abduction, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and Shoot, Cut, Stab or Wound.

Beamon allegedly shot 22-year-old John Taylor Munday, of Corapeake, North Carolina in the 1500 block of Holland Road/Route 58 around 8:48pm.

Munday was treated and released from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Beamon and Munday knew each other, according to police.
