New Kent County, Va. - A 54-year-old New Kent County man is facing several felony charges after officials there searched a home and found marijuana inside.
Authorities conducted the search at a home in Lanexa at 9:45 a.m. on Monday.
Officials say once inside, they found grow rooms in the home on the basement level. They found about 500 plants as well as hydrophonic grow equipment that included timers, lights, water systems and fertilizer.
Danny Ray Norwood was arrested at the home and charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana in excess of five pounds with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while in possession of more than one pound of marijuana.
Norwood is now being held in the Henrico Regional Jail with no bond.
