Portsmouth, Va. – Portsmouth police are investigating after a man reported he was shot in the back in the Churchland section of the city.
Emergency officials received calls at 7:04 p.m. requesting medical assistance in the 1400 block of Silver Maple Drive for a man who had been shot.
When they arrived, they did not find a victim or a crime scene.
A man walked into the Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton with a gunshot wound to his back. He told authorities he was shot in the Churchland section. A crime scene was found in the 20 block of River Green Court.
