Suffolk, Va. – A family of five has been displaced after a costly kitchen fire broke out inside of a Suffolk home on Monday afternoon.
This happened in the 800 block of Cripple Creek Lane. Emergency officials were notified about the fire at 2:38 p.m. and fire crews were on the scene just minutes later.
When they arrived, they saw light smoke showing. They put out the small kitchen fire and it was under control by 2:55 p.m.
No one was injured. Two adults and three children are now being assisted by the American Red Cross.
They say the fire was caused by unattended cooking and this fire caused about $75,000 worth of damage to the home.
