Norfolk, Virginia – A 50-year-old man died Sunday after being hit by a car while attempting to cross a Norfolk street.

The incident happened around 9:00 p.m.

The man was in the southbound traffic lane in the 3100 block of Azalea Garden Road when he was hit by a car, police say. Preliminary investigation reveals he was attempting to cross the street.

He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as Clyde Edward Lee Ricks of Texas.
