Hampton, Va. - A man has died after a single vehicle crash in Hampton on Tuesday night.
Police were notified about the incident at 4:28 p.m. They were told there was a crash in the first block of Shelton Road.
When police arrived, they found a man dead inside of a 1999 Dodge minivan. He has been identified as 35-year-old John Patterson Martin.
Police say the van was going westbound on Shelton Road when it ran off the road and slammed into a tree in front of someone's home.
Crews are now investigating the crash. No one else was inside of the van at the time.
