Family reports beloved Grinch decoration stolen Christmas morning

Portland, OR (KPTV) — A real-life Grinch struck a north Portland home Christmas morning, stealing a beloved decoration from a family’s yard.

Debra Wallace said an 8-foot-tall inflatable Grinch decoration was gone when she woke up Christmas morning.

Wallace said the inflatable Grinch had been a staple of her holiday decorations for nearly a decade, and her family and neighbors all loved it.

She said she bought the Grinch 10 years ago to lift her family’s spirits after a loss.

“My mother passed away before Christmas way back then, and we needed something to be uplifting and to keep busy at the holiday time and keep everybody wanting to enjoy Christmas,” Wallace said.

The Wallace family put a sign in their yard that reads “Our Grinch was stolen. So sad…”

They hope whoever stole the decoration will have a change of heart and bring it back.
