Newport News, Va. – Police are investigating after they say shots were fired at a Newport News hotel over the weekend.
On Friday, December 26, 2014 just before midnight, officers responded to the Point Plaza Hotel located at 950 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. in reference to an ‘unspecified problem’.
When officers arrived, they spoke to an employee who reported that shots were fired on the third floor of the hotel.
Officers did find evidence that a firearm had been discharged and the preliminary investigation revealed there might have been a fight in the hallway and at some point, a firearm was discharged. No one was injured, police say.
Police are still investigating the incident.
