WARNING: THIS VIDEO CONTAINS IMAGES AND LANGUAGE THAT SOME VIEWERS MAY FIND OFFENSIVE.

After his Michael Brown’s August death at the hands of a Ferguson police officer, several attempts to smear his reputation circulated on social media.

One – since proven false –  featured a photo showing a man with cash in mouth and a gun pointed at the camera.

The latest one to make the rounds on Facebook claims to show a young Michael Brown assaulting an older gentleman at an apartment complex.

A man from Barrie, Ontario, Canada uploaded the video to his Facebook page with the following message: “…Videos don’t lie. You will not see this in the media. Pass this around so the truth can be known. It needs to be seen!”

The Smoking Gun reports the video, entitled “Only n Woodland City,” was actually shot in the Woodland City Apartments complex in Dallas, Texas and was posted to YouTube in September 2012.

Snopes.com also debunks the claim that the video shows Brown:

This video, filmed in 2012, would have made Michael Brown only 16 years old at the time, and the assailant in the video looks much older.

Brown stood at a height around 6 foot 4 inches, which is uncommonly tall among American men. The man shown in this footage does not appear to be as tall as Brown was, in comparison to those standing near him. Also, Michael Brown never lived in Texas, according to Snopes.
