Chesapeake, Va. – Crews responded to the CHKD Health Center at Oakbrooke on Thursday after reports of a gas leak, according to Captain Saunders of the Chesapeake Fire Department.
Crews responded to the CHKD Health Center, a three story doctor’s office building, located in the 500 block of Discovery Drive.
The initial call came in at 10:57 a.m. Firefighters arrived on scene at 11:05 a.m.
Occupants on all three floors reported a smell of gas.
Firefighters went in with detectors and picked up some levels of gas, officials say.
The building was evacuated and then closed for the day.
HVAC crews are making repairs; the building was ventilated.
