Onancock man charged after authorities recover 16 dogs from his property

Onancock, Va. – A 75-year-old man has been charged after authorities had to remove sixteen dogs from his Onancock home last week.

A search warrant was executed at the property on Bayside Road on Tuesday, January 6th around 6:30 p.m. by the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office. Sixteen dogs, including one found dead, were recovered from the property.

Robert K. Harvey, 75, was charged with 15 counts of Fair to Provide Adequate Care, and 15 counts of Fail to Display License Tag for the recovered dogs.

Sheriff Godwin stated that the investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.
