School bus accident near Granby Street in Norfolk

Norfolk, Va. – Crews responded to a school bus accident Monday morning at the intersection of Blake Road and Granby Street in Norfolk, according to Norfolk Police.

The bus was attempting to make a left turn onto Blake Road, police say. A four-door Toyota Corolla was also attempting to make a left onto Blake Road. The bus stopped before turning. The driver of the Corolla tried to drive around the right side of the bus, police say, side-swiping the bus.

No damage was done to the bus.

No students were on the bus at the time. No injuries have been reported.

The driver of the Corolla was issued a summons for failure to maintain control, police tell NewsChannel 3.
