Man shot during Norfolk home invasion

Norfolk, Va. - A 23-year-old man was shot during a home invasion in Norfolk early Wednesday.

Norfolk Police say they responded to the 6100 block of Pamlico Circle just after midnight after receiving reports of a possible home invasion.

When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives say preliminary investigation revealed that two unidentified men forcibly entered the home. The victim heard them, went downstairs to investigate, and was shot by one of the suspects.

The suspects fled the home before police arrived.
