UPDATE: A 76-year-old man identified as William Emery of Norfolk died at Sentara Norfolk General from injuries received during the accident.
Suffolk, Va. – Right now Route 58 is closed after a two vehicle accident in the eastbound direction.
This happened near the Route 460/Pruden Blvd. exit.
Emergency crews were called about the incident at 5:35 p.m.
One vehicle reportedly ran into the back of a tow truck that was responding to another incident.
The man suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. He suffered serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
Right now both lanes in this direction are closed and traffic is being diverted to Route 460/Prudent Blvd.
