Hampton man arrested after pursuit ends in Virginia Beach

Chesapeake, Va. – Police have arrested and charged a man after a vehicle pursuit that began in Chesapeake and ended in Virginia Beach, police tell NewsChannel 3.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:20 p.m., an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee that failed to yield the right of way into traffic at Greenbrier Pkwy. onto Interstate 64 West.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, police say. Virginia State Police responded and took over. The vehicle traveled into Virginia Beach where it ultimately stopped in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven located at Windsor Oak Drive and Holland Road.

The driver was taken into custody without incident.

The driver has been identified as 20-year-old Keith Moody of the 600 block of LaSalle Avenue in Hampton.

Moody is charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Felony Eluding, and Fail to Yield. He is currently being held in the Chesapeake City Jail. A woman was was also in the suspect vehicle. She was interviewed and released from the scene, according to police.
