Virginia Beach, Va. – A fire in Virginia Beach sent one person to the hospital early Saturday morning.

Fire control arrived at a townhouse on 5600 block of Gates Landing Road near Providence Road after receiving calls about a fire. According to District Chief Vance Cooper of the Virginia Fire Department, everyone within the home escaped safely. One individual however was taken to the hospital for inhalation, but is expected to have a healthy recovery.

The Red Cross are supporting the victims to the fire, four adults and four children. “We are providing the family with food, lodging, infant supplies and a portable crib,” said Red Cross Communication Officer, Jonathan McNamara in a press release.  “Our team will work with the family over the coming days to identify if there are any additional ways that we can help as they continue the recovery process.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
