Norfolk, Va. - On January 17th, the Norfolk Admirals and the Hartford Wolfpack skated on pink ice at the Scope for Pink in the Rink night. The night was held in support of breast cancer awareness and benefited the Tidewater Chapter of Susan G Komen.
Camille York and her friend Alice Arney enjoyed a girls night out at the game.
Both Camille and Alice are breast cancer survivors, and felt overwhelmed by the support at Pink in the Rink Night.
"I think this approach is what's overwhelming there's so many people out here...that want to make a difference and seeing all the survivors out here as well," York said.
For Camille its been 11 years since she beat the disease, For Alice it's only been four months so any chance the ladies have to help raise awareness about breast cancer, they take the opportunity.
The Admirals would end up falling to the Wolfpack 2-0, but for theses breast cancer survivors, it's all about remembering whats really important...life.
"Stay strong and never give up...never give up...and let your smile be your umbrella," York said.
