Charlotte, NC – Model Tyra Banks is well known for her “wanna be on top” tagline from her hit international modeling competition America’s Next Top Model. Closer to home, a competition ensues as twelve campus Queens “wanna be on top,” and become the 2015 Miss Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
The CIAA, founded in 1912, is the oldest African-American athletic association serving twelve schools and over 7,000 students.
Annually as they gear up for the CIAA Basketball Tournament, 12 campus queens compete to be Miss CIAA. The winner is crowned based upon public vote (15%), an interview (35%), an essay (25%), contestant extra-curricular activities (10%), and contestant GPA (15%). Miss CIAA is an official ambassador for the conference and represents the conference during all official affairs.
The winner is crowned during the conference—February 23-28, 2015 at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC.
